Cottam Family History going right back to William Cottam and wife Jane Belford I will now try to share with you some of what I have found out about Dad's family. As you know, his parents were Robert C Cottam and Edna Woodward Cave. (I haven't found any document which revealed what the C stood for.) Violet Mabel April 29 1919 - June 28 2007 Married Wilfred Bates (Mar 25 1915 -May 30 1998) in Dec 1940 in Lincoln. In 1939 Violet was living in Nottinghamshire and so was Wilf and in 1953 they were living in Berkshire. The 1891census shows Lois Amelia aged 2 living with Sarah Rebecca and her husband Frank Bonner. Mary Ann, the eldest, died only 17 months after her mother's death. Thomas married Charlotte Greaves née Smith in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, in October 1890 when he was 45 years old.
